Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the company said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The company declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
