Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the initial candidates in the frame to replace the former manager as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys support from the Wolves directors as they begin the process of hiring a fresh manager.

Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a unexpected candidate, although he would be a surprising choice considering he was released by Wolves in the previous winter.

The ex- West Ham player is currently unemployed which means the club would not be required to provide any buyout fee.
