Plane Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed based on established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Pete Hegseth, is secure," a press officer said in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This incident is not the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has encountered mechanical issues.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to turn back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
