Trump's Policies Pose a Danger to Civilization.

The internal and external strategies – from the effort to overturn the election previously to recent moves and warnings – erode both national and global jurisprudence. But that’s not all.

They endanger the very concept of what we mean by.

The ethical foundation of any advanced culture is to forestall the stronger from attacking and exploiting the less powerful. Otherwise, we could find ourselves trapped in a brutish war where only the fittest could survive.

This principle is embedded of the nation's founding texts. It’s also the heart of the global system established after WWII advocated by the US, emphasizing international cooperation, democratic governance, individual liberties, and the supremacy of law.

Yet, it is a fragile principle, frequently ignored by those who would exploit their authority. Preserving it demands that the influential have the moral fortitude to abstain from seeking immediate gains, and that the public demand responsibility should they falter.

Unfettered might does not make right. It results in uncertainty, chaos, and war.

Each instance entities that are advantaged attack and exploit those that are less so, the structure of society weakens. If these actions are not contained, the fabric unravels. If not stopped, the world can descend into instability and violence. It has happened before.

Our current reality is a global community with deepening divides. Influence and wealth are more concentrated than in recent memory. This encourages the privileged to exploit the disadvantaged because they act with a sense of above the law.

The fortunes of a small group of ultra-wealthy individuals is staggering. The influence of big tech, big oil, and large defense contractors spans a vast portion of the world. Advanced technology is likely to consolidate economic and political clout even more. The offensive capability of the world's largest nations is without parallel in human history.

Empowered by a compliant faction and an accommodating high court, the highest office has been transformed into the most dominant and unchecked instrument of the state in the modern era.

Consider this confluence and you grasp the threat.

A direct line links past lawless actions to ongoing threats. Each were premised on the arrogance of invincibility.

One observes a similar pattern in other global contexts: in wars of aggression, in expansive ambitions, and in the global depredation by industrial titans.

However, raw power does not create right. It fosters fragility, upheaval, and bloodshed.

The lessons of the past reveal that frameworks designed to constrain the influential also safeguard them. Without such constraints, their endless appetite for increased control and resources ultimately bring them down – and with them their enterprises, countries, or domains. And threaten global conflict.

This blatant contempt for legal order will plague the nation and the world – and indeed civilized conduct – for the foreseeable future.
