Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community had expressed condolences for the fighter in the wake of the terrible crash.
